Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST 14" in Caledonia Works lined grey - unnumbered

have to wait till after Xmas as the PAIR of them are Grandpa’s present to himself and he wants to deeply involve his youngest grandchildren in the excitement of opening The Box and whipping up their railway modelling enthusiasm to inherit said Grandpa’s chest-of-drawers pull-out layouts which don’t get taken apart, have untoward things dumped on them or get dusty and four of them only have the floor footprint of one, therefore suitable for bedrooms and not relegated to attics, garages or sculleries. Five Star I Hope, but wait till I OPEN THE BOX AT XMAS. Patience.

Superb model. Great amount of weight and brilliant model straight out of the box.

My only issues is that the model did not come with etched builders plates or a flickering firebox but for the price, it isn’t a massive issue

The new Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST are superb models and would add an interesting variety to a model railway in OO scale. They are small enough to suit a very modest layout. I bought two (different) locos from the same range. No regrets.

Yes "Accuramarvalouse" is how I would describe Accurascales oo gauge Andrew Barclays 0-4-0st 14" Caledonia loco in works lined grey. I only wish they would have a phone line installed so that I could phone them personally and congratulate them on a fantastic model. Well done Accurascale! Barry.

Another lovely little model from Accurascale. I know that this model was originally designed by Hattons but it is good to see Accurascale taking it over. My "Caledonia" ran well straight from the box and I am looking forward to fitting a decoder once they become available.

I look forward to other liveries in the future.

I cannot comment on the running because I am still inquiring whether there is an appropriate 6-pin sound decoder that will slot in and fit OK and whether there is room inside the body for a speaker. (not such a major issue because a speaker in the cab would be fairly well hidden by using a driver and fireman with their arms resting over the cab sides..
But I am totally delighted with the appearance and detailing of my Caledonia Works version. There are metal grab rails and pipework and there is a lovely soft sheen both to the grey bodywork and the red buffer beams and motion. And there is absolutely no sign of a moulding join on the boiler top. Well done, Accurascale.

This was a model worth waiting for. It is beautifully detailed and a controlled smooth slow runner. Having travelled behind the original on the Mid Suffolk Railway a few months ago it was a pleasure to see such an accurate model in 4mm scale.

Having had the original model from hattons was great in itself. When I heard accurascale had taken on the barclays I was over the moon! The model arrived in a very timely manner and it has had improvements made to the tooling, with the weight being increased and the finish becoming more satin like. The model is VERY WELL PROTECTED! lots of foam. Instructions are very clear and legible.
VFM wise under £100 for a Charming little Industrial loco, you cannot argue. If you don't have one yet I would highly recommend you get one, even more if your funds permit.

I ordered this as I spent time working on the real one at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway this year. This model is lovely. A fantastic runner, surprisingly heavy, great detail and beautiful decoration. I really recommend.

very well detailed. Runs well on analog. Haven’t fitted the chip yet. Very pleased with my purchase.
